Here is my shortcut route for Fall:
Read the first para of the plot summary in the book's Wikipedia article.
Then start with Ch 4
Then skip to 8
Then skip to Parts 2 - 4 (of 11 Parts).
From there, skip any chapters taking place in bitworld
