Last toot from here. Thanks folks for being an incredible bunch, sorry I’ve not always had all the levers to pull on safety, but I hope on the whole this place has been a positive one for people. This server’s been a riot for all the right reasons - and I’m very happy through the silliness and lovely chats to have met so many great people who I call friends because of it.
And remember Irish Butter is the best (And not that Kerrygold shite).

New spam accounts which had signed up were suspended daily up until my departure from the server.
Prior to the closure notice, I had purged of our user database of lurking/dormant spam accounts.
Everyone here in this period received a toot about the close (done manually).
Updates on the closure have been posted and can be found on my timeline (25 over the course of a bit more than a month).
New sign ups to the server (I hadn’t the ability to turn these off) were informed on the day they signed up and directed to new servers.

If you’re reading this and on warhammer.social it’s a note to say that this server is no longer moderated as of today (17/01/24), and it is liable to be closed without notice.
A decision was made on the 17/11/24 that the server would close, after that point comms about the closure ceased. After which and in that in that context as the Mod on the server I initiated communications about the shutdown.
Hi @Wizrad, I see you’ve just joined the server. Apologies for this but we’re actually shutting down. I’ve been trying to get our sign ups closed so folks don’t have this experience!

As for other servers - I can highly recommend
wargamers.social and dice.camp as alternatives to ourselves.

Folks, that’s going to be the last of these. I’ll be migrating my account on Friday. There are a couple of accounts still tooting on warhammer.social - in case you’ve not seen the notices, you’ll be getting an email shortly.

Just another note for Admins/Mods out there - there are still sign ups coming through. I’ve chased this (again), but I’m getting radio silence back. I’d really advise at this point that you get ready to limit/defed with Warhammer.Social - it’s a little bit of a ghost ship at the moment.
