Stuff iRobot was up to BEFORE Amazon offered $1.7Bn to purchase them: Having their roombas take pictures of people in the bathroom and then using those pictures as AI training data.
So, sure, having Amazon own them'd be just STELLAR. 🙄
Very thankful for that FTC investigation, rn.

"The current landscape makes clear what has always been true: On the internet, nothing lasts forever. The most resilient choice is always the one that allows you to own your relationships with your audience and directly build community with the people who care about your work. That way, when a platform inevitably disappears, your relationship with your community remains intact." — @ben

As with fire ecology, organisms that adapt will survive.
Own. Your. Shit.
"So for now, that's how I'm getting my news. If you're feeling adrift post-Twitter, it might be worth trying RSS out for yourself. What a wild sentence to write in 2022. Maybe everything old really is new again." - @dansinker

For thousands of years, fermenting beer was considered a household task for #women.
By the Middle Ages, some sold beer at English markets. Female brewers wore tall, pointy hats to be easily spotted. They stood by cauldrons & often had cats to keep mice away.
Sound familiar? It should.
You see, when male brewers felt threatened, they accused the women of witchcraft. These rumors may have led to some witch iconography we still recognize today.

Out-take: “This is why ‘content moderation’ is always going to be done on the cheap. It’s built into the nature of the business model.”
Thought-provoking!
