A bit ashamed of the lack of this but the new app update allows poll creation (and edition)!
Also push notifications of new posts by selected users: click on your account icon (top right corner), then Network, then three dots of the user you want to be notified about (and make sure your notifications for "Posts from selected users" are enabled).
