my favorite part of an images online deterioration process (like being shared to 4 different social medias by 30 people) is when it's aspect ratio begins to change. sure, the image is of course going to have it's resolution changed anywhere it'd shared, but once the aspect ratio begins cropping or adding black bars is when you know the image has been to hell and back
