@AFCscott @rtgunn it’s been a while since we needed a champions league squad as well. We have had such a clear 11 with really only Tierney somewhat pushing Zinchenko for minutes. Will be interesting to see how Arteta manages a more internally competitive set of players in coming seasons.

@AFCscott @rtgunn given the size of the outlay, transfers of this nature have a high miss rate- no sure thing. I think my reticence is focused on both using a lot of the club’s dry powder and not being sure what success criteria look like. Do we think he’ll be better than Martinelli/Saka? Does the fee mean he needs to be more than a super sub to be free from the £72M Pepe jokes? Trust the process and all that, but some hand wringing is warranted I think.

@rtgunn @AFCscott hard to judge moves in a vacuum. If it precludes other transfers in the summer at DM and elsewhere, I would agree.
