@halsinger Who was the byline on this?
I also think this is as much a way to suppress the upward salary demands of existing employees as it is for people negotiating their salary.
It is likely both.
This is merely speculation, but I think:
A) Among tech-VC types, there seems to be a hive mind mentality, so if a member of this "in-group" articulates this point of view, it's likely been discussed behind closed doors beforehand. Don't forget, Thiel and Elleson are prominent members of this club, and knowing their recent political leanings and providers, this isn't surprising.
B) The overtly anti educational shift happened around the same time workplaces started organizing.
This reminds me of Jerry Tarkanian saying "The NCAA was so mad at Kentucky, they gave Cleveland State two more years of probation."
Does the kernel handle it better than the 5700 when it came out/
Was this guy playing Halo or Call of Duty, or whatever the kids play these days when writing this?
I wish I thought of it...
@mtsw The funny thing is that the Chicago brick bungalow is the closest to a platonic ideal for housing.
But it is so intertwined with urbanism and Chicago- four-letter words to a good part of the country. It's also too expensive because we've gone both more expensive (in price) and cheaper (in quality) with our housing.
@profmusgrave I just use libre office.
You're hardcore.
