@Teri_Kanefield Real question - I want to be supportive, and at the same time I'm terrified that if I donate directly to Harris's campaign, I'll be flooded with e-mails, phone calls, texts, physical mail, etc. for the end of my days. (Already, I get an insane amount). Any tips on how to minimize this? Otherwise, I'll keep donating to the same GOTV groups I usually do.
@Teri_Kanefield For what it's worth, I always appreciate your level-headed takes. I'm really sorry that people are being awful. Please know that your down-to-earth attitude has brought a *lot* of solace to me over the last several years.
And writing this comment is my reminder that I need to sign up to write postcards or something democratic ;)
@Teri_Kanefield Writing postcards for NY-03 was my "Teri says panicking isn't helpful and it's better to participate in the democratic process" action. I'm heartened to see how this turned out.
@Teri_Kanefield For what it's worth, when I get scared about the news, I try to think back to your post about what we can do to defend democracy. I wrote some postcards to voters over the weekend. I felt better, and I figure it's better than just being panicked and anxious. All of which is to say - I appreciate you!
@Teri_Kanefield Really grateful for you providing perspective. In part because of you, I try to ignore the outrage cycle and get involved with local elections as I can. However, I probably don't show up in the screaming masses, because I've purposefully decreased my social media use.
Anyway. I know it feels like fighting a house fire with a garden hose, but I really appreciate everything you do.
