@imyke I know Siracusa’s rules, but for me personally - hundreds of days of version history counts as backup.

Anyway, just an outsider view. As a fellow nerd who sometimes snipes myself.

@imyke Oh has it had issues?

@imyke Annoying suggestion… pool 3 relay hosts and just expense Dropbox Advanced (15GB for $864/yr). That’s +$500/yr more than separate individual plans, but if you are going to spend just 10 hrs per year futzing with NAS or explaining how others can sync, or screwing up one file transfer, or researching upgrades and backup… it pays for itself.

Think of it like 10 extra hours with your kid or on the business.

@gruber @sixcolors someone smart probably suggested this to you a year ago. Oh wait

@rmondello I didn’t immediately see an email report from your name, lmk if I missed it.

Sounds like it came from upstream :(. But if you send more details we can double check.

Sorry.

@rmondello One day these will be in Passwords, Wallet, and Settings. Synced
@marcoarment @siracusa he waited a decade and then spend $15k on a paperweight after 2 years of use. :(
@rmondello As noted this as an account specific thing. If you can contact support please to see your logs

@drdrang dark sky was built from an algorithmic approach. Weather has 2 separate data flows: current and future. Current comes from sensors. Future comes from A) extrapolation from sensors B) algos.

So you can see how Dark Sky doesn’t have a network of sensors, this won’t be great at current, and can only do B method.

As you might guess, the way they get Current is by interpolating between forecasts snapshots.

Generally Current is harder than Forecasts for these reasons, plus is falsifiable

@marcoarment ha! That’s even worse than the non-ownership version of “the price is changing”
