Yeah, I just entered the URL and it worked.

🧵🗺️ 🦌 💻 A little thread about #MachineLearning education in ecology.

This fall, I am teaching an ML class based on species distributions. Yesterday's activity was a little game where we kept the same data and tweaked the model to see which combination of data preparation and classifier we could use and whether we "liked" the results. It was, essentially, a computer-assisted vibe check.

The data look like this:

I apparently cannot select mastodon.social as my server when I try to log in from my Mastodon Android app. Is it happening just for me?

What do I do?

Can't just open a new account on a new server.

@jesperdramsch Yes, thanks.

I tried manim community edition, and I found the API inconsistent and requiring too much to do simple things. The extra work might make sense when you are making a super-polished YT video, but for examples, blogs, and slides, I find manim to be too much work.

I am also looking not for animating from *code for animation*, but normal np or torch code directly turned into nice visuals- probably 3D diagram in the notebook or otherwise.

Know something like that?

Yeah, I love 3b1b, and anything that Grant makes.

Are there any educational packages that visualize tensor operations with animation? Especially for higher-dim ops- with 3D animation?

Is there anyone here from #deeplearning community? Whom should I follow?
