#30DayMapChallenge a bit late, in one map, day 5 a journey (mine), day 11 time and space (where I studied and worked) and day 15 my data. #rstats
Here, I show the data from the greenhouse gas emission from fuel. I aim to show the reader which countries did not reduce their emissions after the 2015 year of the Paris Agreement. I coloured in orange the countries that are the focus for my readers. #rstats #ggplot2 📊 #dataviz
"{viridis} is an R package that presents colour-blind friendly palettes. It improves the graph readability. The advantage of {viridis} is that the palettes are perceptually uniform, easy to print in greyscale and colour-blind friendly. To use the {viridis} in ggplot2 simply ass:
📊 scale_colour_d()
In the slope graphs I generated in this example, I simply added the function above. The image shows four possible {viridis} palettes.

How to choose a colour-blind friendly colour palette in R? One option is the package {RColorBrewer}, which helps you find the right colour for your audience. Using the parameter ‘colorblindFriendly = TRUE’ inside the function 'display.brewer.all', you can visualise all the colour-blind friendly palettes. Select a colour palette and get the number of colours in it with the function 'brewer.pal.info'. #rstats #inclusivity
Thank you Dariia Mykhailyshyna for inviting last Thursday to animate “workshop for Ukraine”. I talked about creating a Sankey diagram with {networkD3} and a chord diagram with {circlize}. I used data from UNHCR, to show how many refugees fled from their home country to the country of arrivals. Sankey and chord diagrams are a good way to show this type of data. Below the two diagrams I realised during the workshop. The interactive version: https://rigior.quarto.pub/sankey/ #rstats #dataviz

#day1 of #30DayMapChallenge. Where to visit a Greek temple. Here, using data from Wikipedia #rstats and leaflet package.
I'm very pleased to be one of the speakers for the next workshop for Ukraine. If you are keen to learn, how to make chord diagrams with {circlize} and get some first knowledge of Sankey diagrams with {networkd3}, join the workshop. Et voilà
My first dashboard with #QuartoPub. Yesterday I discovered the Quarto dashboard and I tried it right away. The original dashboard was for a client. I anonymized the data by using book media companies. #rstats #dataviz https://rigior.quarto.pub/books-media-companies/

How do people spend their hours? Researchers at McGill University in Montreal created The Human Chronome Project (https://lnkd.in/e-FtRyVR), which is a database of global human activities. This database contains data for about eight billion people on how they occupy their day. In this infographic, I present the data for Northern Europe. I focus on Denmark, Finland, Iceland, and Sweden. Thanks to @nrennie for letting me discover {VoronoiPlus} package. #rstats #infographic #dataviz #TidyTuesday
