Stay-at-home dad. Wrote about games for a while. Studied Philosophy & Cognitive Science before that.
@jessamyn Thank you for writing these (and for the service you provide, of course). I love them as little nudges toward empathy.
@kenwhite.bsky.social If things shake out such that you’d like to play Terraforming Mars more, but your gaming partners don’t, the digital version is excellent. I played a ton on the iPad; with the computer doing the math and rules enforcement, it’s much faster (maybe 40 minutes/game).
@karptonite perhaps something with the Statue of Liberty on it? I feel like we need to remind people that Trumpism is not conservative, but radical, and that they can’t really embrace symbols central to our identity as Americans (heck, it was the Reagan administration that renovated it!).
Wow. Yes. #AI
@eli That’s part of why I ended up with the non-pro version. The versatility of that button seemed like such a headline feature, but it mattered so little to me that I figured there wasn’t much to draw me in.
One of the concepts I don’t think I ever encountered in school, but which seems to me extremely useful, is “shim”. We are taught about a world of 90° angles but live in a world of approximations.
Just cracked open my new 40k Leviathan box, and I should have had a plan. There’s a pile of sprues in there, I tell you what.
How long until Twitter rolls out ads on the block screen?
@scottboehmer That luck does seem <dons sunglasses> staggeringly bad.
