Waiting for Poly to calm down a bit, i had this amazing day planned with my bestie, but first have to pick up my sons from school as by bike it's too dangerous. After that i will see if i can make the drive a bit more north by car.
for the non dutchies: Im sure youve all seen the Discourse that with Twitter preventing public access to tweets is a big issue of stuff like emergency services and weather warnings.

This is now already playing out in Amsterdam. Theres a bit of a storm, so the fire department send out an emergency text message to everyone. The first version included a link to twitter to follow the latest updates. Then they realized, and a second version that went to a different region (as the storm travelled there) got a warning message without the twitter link.

I think the quote by the press person from the fire department really says it all: "We don't check every day if everyone can still read our tweets"

Considering that Amsterdam is the first municipality to run their own Mastodon server, it seems like the solution is right available

After a day of running into multiple accessibility barriers while attempting to do multiple online things, I just needed to come here to say thank you to everyone on Mastodon who participates in creating a small corner where I don't feel like an afterthought. I appreciate the dedication to alt text and video descriptions so, so much, and I know many people have already said it, but I don't think it can ever be overstated.

Going through some old audio cassettes and just listening to Tape Head Cleaner. Total rip off of John Cage.

What kind of band merchandise do you like / would you want?

Of course we have t-shirts (stanley / stella, the most sustainable and eco brand we can find -> https://online.flippingbook.com/view/181707997/) and stickers (vegan materials).

Not specific for our band, but more in general.

ST/ST - Sustainability Report 2023 - EN

Right from the beginning in 2012 Stanley/Stellaโ€™s founder Jean Chabert had a vision for a B2B lifestyle brand that would manufacture in a more responsible, ethical and sustainable way. Although there is no easy route to sustainability, we work hard every day to make it a reality by making deliberate, conscious decisions about who we work with, how we work & what materials we choose to use. By developing and sticking to concrete, long-term objectives that are guided by the principles of sustainability, we hope to get closer to being an ecological and ethical model for the fashion retail sector.

@liztai @philsherry I know right, I really hate Adobe for it. Cashgrabbing bunch of capitalists.

I however have paid the ~150 euro to Affinity with love and kisses! (as i upgraded from 1 to 2 it was not as much because of early adopter and upgrade, but still).
@philsherry @liztai i use it as an InDesign replacement and for me it works more than fine. more so as Integration between the Affinity apps is super tight!
@philsherry From what i know, Billie Eillish writes a lot of her own music, together with FINNEAS of course. I think FINNEAS is the more instrumentally gifted one, but as far as pop artists go, it's quite 'DIY'.
