@welshpixie wow how exciting! We had a pheasant land in the garden once but I don't think it was truly wild, probably just managed to escape. Very pretty colour feathers though.
@welshpixie Did you buy them, or are they wild?

@quinnmx one thing I don't really understand here is the star button. I've seen posts with many reblogs and no likes/stars. Maybe it doesn't have a network effect like it does in Twitter so no-one uses it?
@quinnmx I have noticed people putting a CW on replies, which I thought was odd because if someone has opened the first post then they probably intend to bypass a warning for that content. However, maybe the intention is to warn people that might see the reply first. I guess you could propagate the post by replying to it, and put a CW on your reply.
@davidallengreen people could be in groups 1 and 3 if they left Twitter recently. I assume 3 implies no Twitter following history.
One of the best things about twitter, in my opinion, was how easy it made it for climate scientists and journalists to connect. It is critical for climate scientists to be able to speak to the public through the media, and not just the same few "moderate" voices all the time.

In the budget this week it was good to hear that UK Government is to “refocus” the Investment Zone programme to a limited number of “growth clusters” and maintain high environmental standards. Thread 🧵
