@nicklockwood Software has been buggier and more unreliable since features features features, no time to look back came in. I think a lot of places do agile very, very badly (in the long term) and businesses reward based on moving metrics, not fixing the millions of papercuts.
@leogdion (not that it won’t before then! But especially after the Gemini models get added, you’ll get an upgrade for free 😄)
@leogdion this is the sort of app that I think is gonna absolutely sing when we get, presumably, 27 with the new on-device models!
@jwolman @stroughtonsmith haha! I don’t know why it forces the rotation, nor why it forces the window into an enlarged size when closing an image… Very odd behaviour. Here’s hoping 27 fixes it.
@jwolman @stroughtonsmith It’s a lot better now that they can run properly in iPhone size with the new windowing mode, altho apps like Bluesky with no iPad app break when opening images, and forcibly rotate and resize.
@stroughtonsmith A lot like when they announced Size Classes, and it wasn’t even “reading between the lines”…
@stroughtonsmith @paul Perhaps one of the best things about the AI era is all these companies scrambling to finally build the CLIs to their services so we don't have to use their awful websites
@david @helge Yeah, I don’t blame open source libraries saying “We outright ban obviously AI generated PRs, because we can’t be certain we’re not the first person reviewing this code.”
Equally, if the solution _does_ fix the issue, great, you might not want to miss that. But the time saved by getting the AI to fix it can and should be spent on the dev. doing a better write up, providing more proof-of-fix, and demonstrating some element of human pre-push review.
@stroughtonsmith @macrumors Certainly explains the very blunt “Nothing changes, we continue with Halide Mk 3” statement, and lack of “Gutted you’re leaving, excited to see what you’ll do at Apple” stuff when the hire was announced… 😬
I’m so, so happy to say that I’ve been promoted at Depop, to a Senior iOS Engineer I 😁 Never received a promotion before, so I’m extra happy to receive this recognition!
