@ncdominie More MacCaig, less shouty stuff
@ncdominie Lovely frog, and I love MacCaig!
I note you're here and Bluesky. How are you finding them compare? (I've not been here for ages)
@Lignedescience Sounds good! It's a shame it's all so fragmented on social media now
@Lignedescience @ThierryJoffredo A very belated hello and thank you! I'm mostly on Bluesky these days. What am I missing here on Mastodon?
@telescoper I must stop this habit of coming here to check what’s up over there...
Awkward first post... gradually dipping my toes in the waters of Mastodon - hopefully I'll post here more than on Twitter. I expect most of my posts will be Digital Humanities-related, particularly in the areas of Linked Data, data modelling and open research, usually applied to cultural heritage or Ancient World contexts

Not sure how many Edinburgh-based folk are on here (and following me), but I’m giving a talk to the Old Edinburgh Club on 18 January about the city and its observatory in the 19th century

NEW: Britain’s grim winter of strikes, falling incomes and a worsening NHS crisis is not some unfortunate series of events It’s the inevitable result of a decade of Tory austerity that steadily weakened the state’s capacity to respond to shocks https://t.co/xJcNiCJk2b Thread:

Happy solstice!

This print, showing the seasons, equinoxes and solstices, is one of the first things I catalogued way back when I worked at the Royal Observatory Greenwich. Description here: https://www.rmg.co.uk/collections/objects/rmgc-object-263835
