BS in Nursing | Southern Connecticut State University

The curriculum in the undergraduate nursing program is designed as an upper-division major. The program requires a strong liberal arts and science base as a prerequisite to nursing courses. Students complete theory courses in the major as well as hospital and community-based clinical practice. Full-time and limited part-time study options are available. A few things blooming in my yard now: tulips (regular and species), bush cherry, and early blueberries (not quite blooming yet).

Bee on the azalea on campus today. Such a lovely day for humans and bees!

Of course, it's #Connecticut, so clouds had to come by, but it mostly cleared enough for me to get this fun shot. (Idea stolen from a library session in 2017.)

This year, the last of the snowdrops and the first of the daffodils are blooming together.

I try to capture the crocuses every year, so I looked at the dates of the first crocus photos, which are usually a day or two after the first flowers come up, though I could have missed some earlier ones some years.

2024: Feb 27
2023: Feb 18
2022: Mar 16
2021: Mar 12
2020: Mar 4
2019: Mar 27
2018: Mar 4
2017: Feb 25
2016: Feb 28
2015: Mar 30

So this year was on the early side but not the earliest; the end of Feb/beginning of March is very common in the last 10 years.

Crocuses. Early, but not as early as last year. I've had them coming up from mid-February to May since I moved into this house 11 years ago. The lighter purple ones come up and bloom first along with the small patch of snowdrops. The darker purple ones have just started poking leaves above the soil, so they've got a while to go yet. These are legacy flowers, planted decades ago (judging by the soil depth) by a previous homeowner.

It's early for snowdrops, but not too much. It's really, REALLY early for the crocuses here, and those daffs are going to have a problem if we get another cold snap.
