Someone can’t wait…

#DogsOfMastodon

Over the past five school days, buses have been cancelled on four of those days due to inclement weather. Snow for two days last week, freezing rain yesterday, fog today. So, hmm… yeah. The best laid plans….
We have a lake nearby. A small flock of swans just flew over the trail. Honking away madly, sounding like bugles. Pretty sure they were saying: WTH. πŸ™‚

Current status.

First real snow of the season, so at this point, I’m definitely still:❀️

Boost this toot if you're planning on sticking around Mastodon & the Fediverse whether or not it's more popular than Bluesky.

Normally, this says more about me than the hardware, but in this case, it seems LED bulbs do not work in the ceiling fan lights in question.

Unfortunately, we have four identical ceiling fans of this make and model in our home. 🫠

I could open my own hardware store for all the times I’ve brought lightbulbs home and found out that they don’t work in the fixtures I own.

The Battlestar Galacticast is really funny (and insightful). Tricia Helfer’s cats keep stealing the show.

Battlestar Galacticast

BSG star Tricia Helfer and TV writer/journalist Marc Bernardin do an episode-by-episode rewatch of Battlestar Galactica in its entirety, diving deep into the themes of the award-winning sci-fi classic and revealing behind the scenes details that only a true BSG insider like Tricia would know. In addition, the podcast will welcome members of BSG’s cast and crew into the airlock to share their memories of making the groundbreaking series.

@JakeMarcus Welcome, Jake! πŸ‘‹πŸΌ Nice to see you over here.

Post-retrofit (solar panels, heat pump) home energy audit just completed.

Total annual energy use changes from 107 GJ/year to 7.

Greenhouse gas emissions went from 3.7 tonnes/year to 0.3, a change of -91%.

All of this was made possible by the Canada Greener Homes Loan program, which offers up to $40,000 for eligible retrofits, interest-free, paid back over 10 years.
