Them: Faving posts on Mastodon is useless, only the OP sees it.

Me, when a post gets faved: awwww, little internet hug ✨

I was talking to a pastor friend of mine who was commissioned the same year as I was. She admitted that she had not baptized anyone yet. It's been years, but she's served old, dying churches.

The privilege I have of baptizing four this year, as the pastor of a very small church, is not lost on me. Today I have nothing but gratitude.

I might as well mention the advantages of self-hosting:

1. You moderate as you wish
2. You truly own your personal data
3. You actually have exposure to more instances since, from the outset, you haven't been blocked by any of them (but this can also change)

Friday Me: I’m going to write a grant and work on my book this weekend!

Saturday Me:

A testament to the lengths I go to avoid muffin top: this turtleneck is actually my pants.

“If I were to wish for anything, I should not wish for wealth and power, but for the passionate sense of the potential, for the eye which, ever young and ardent, sees the possible. Pleasure disappoints, possibility never. And what wine is so sparkling, what so fragrant, what so intoxicating, as possibility!” – Søren Kierkegaard

No Brenda, you cannot bring a mixed green salad to Thanksgiving dinner unless you plan on eating in your car.
Hi! Here’s my introduction, I found my voice quite late in the game but the courage to do so has launched me into an adventure in discovering the beauty and joy of being fully and unapologetically me. I love all things about the #rockymountains , writing, teaching, neuroscience, learning and sitting with others in the midst of their journeys of discovering and healing. I am a passionate follower of Jesus, the one who frees the oppressed, and teaches us to love the widow and orphan.
