a few months back people were trying to map out their audience and twitter space through this map. it was an interesting exercise to see how cluster of communities can be traced and connected despite such a loose structure.

unlike twitter, mastodon has a server address that kind of grounded you within a community group instead of making it easy for you to dip in and out different zones (fediverse and hashtags are not a default mechanism but an active filtering process).

atm i'm hoping and wanting to see some familiar users from my old network to have a mastodon, but it might be tricky to find them as a username isn't enough to chase them up.

self-reminder: always, always vet through personal settings and any given affordances to maintain my own peace.

mass communication has its own blessings and curses. and i do not appreciate strangers' interactions that are often so careless and neglectful.

feeling lucky that i was being able to use my camera with some of the most talented queers in the area. the up and coming visibility of queer POC feels significant and i'm hoping our presence is going to be thriving and nurtured.

tbf i truly think of the folks on the ground of warzone who's been using twitter for their reporting so whatever it is with the term refugee, maybe it's a valid way of its own to say people are displaced and for once white folks can sympathise with it even digitally.
