Wait both MGM and Ceasar’s got hacked? So the entire vegas monopoly got hacked just a week after DEFCON. It feels like the biggest moment in cybersecurity since Sony, Target, and Log4j.

I am going to guess that MGM was taken down by initial access through a smaller system to handle one of the many random functions in vegas (remote access to in house system that schedules room cleanings or some small task). Vegas is built on procedures and I bet one of these systems that allowed for that process was made in an insecure way without IT's purview.
