This relay has been under sustained attack for two weeks. It has been powered down as I reassess options and consider whether to resurrect the service.

Apologies for the inconvenience to subscribed instances. It would be best to remove the relay from your Federation Relays. If I bring the service back, it will be from scratch, requiring new registration.

Due to these circumstances, I have closed relay.masto.social to new registrations. Existing registrations will remain. I will re-evaluate this decision as I watch the trends over time. Many instances registered and went offline very quickly. This may free up resources allowing us to open registrations again.

As new instances have exploded in growth, the new registrations on the relay have also increased dramatically. This has a put a strain on resources and the relay is struggling to keep up.
