An earlier version of this page, in which Kel cusses up a storm in response to Jodoque's revelation, got me reader complaints because this "wasn't the sweet Kel we knew". This made me wonder which other comic with a character named Kel those readers thought they were reading. Kel was often resentful, quarrelsome and lazy, though in her defence it was a response to the other members of the gang really taking her for granted and treating her like shit.
And that is one of the things that make her so angry in this scene. After a few comfortable years in which the gang got along better, relationships were more balanced and Kel rose above the status of everybody else's doormat, she finds out that actually, nothing has changed. She and Jodoque have been kept out of the loop while Ragnarok and Jake have resumed their bandit ways for seemingly no good reason. To her, this is a betrayal that injures her deeply.
I still enjoy looking at this page and I think the reasons why Kel is losing her cool and cussing so profusely should be clear.
