It seems like every week the local news is excited to announce the latest chain store opening up their first outlet here. While they also publicize openings for a locally owned, new business, it doesn't get the same traction. Why? We're not a city of transplants, badly missing their favorite fast food or convenience store, so why is it that we care so much?
