RecRoom is closing! Very sad news for what was the greatest social VR platform. I’ve spent thousands of hours in there playing paintball and going round and round the incredible quests. https://blog.recroom.com/posts/schools-out-for-rec-room
School’s Out for Rec Room — ‎

Rec Room will be closing down on June 1st 2026 at noon Pacific time. Over the past decade, Rec Room grew into something amazing, reaching over 150 million players and creators along the way. Players made over half a billion friends on the platform. In total, people all around the world spent a cumu

@rakhim same for me, but it’s only high bandwidth transfers that seem to kill the Bluetooth. Most of the legacy devices are only using it for low bandwidth telemetry (air conditioners, power meters, etc…)
@rakhim the only times I’ve seen the mouse cursor stutter you mention is when there high bandwidth transfers over WiFi on devices near the mouse. I’ve not seen it much in recent years because I moved everything I could to 5GHz to free up spectrum for Bluetooth and Zigbee
https://lucasfcosta.com/blog/design-docs I could not agree more and that was before AI changed the game by making code so much cheaper to write.
Design docs considered harmful

Hot takes and cold truths on software, startups, and the lies we tell ourselves.

@BenHouston3D @zeux @donmccurdy perhaps version 1.0 has issues that will need to be resolved with time, but I’m grateful that we have something we didn’t have before: a pure JS version of a useful library. The more rigorous the testing and evaluating the better, but how it was created is incidental.
@swetland you are underestimating AI. At least know your enemy. Claude Code on Opus 4.6 is fire stolen from the gods. Like you I’m a real programmer of many years who loves the craft, but this technology is the biggest step forward since the Internet or mobile. There are always half price offers if you want a link.

@grumpygamer

…last try before I get bored of being ignored…

Consider this quote from Steve Yegge:

“But if you haven’t used specifically Opus 4.5/4.6 with specifically Claude Code for at least an hour, then you’re in for a real shock. Because all your complaining about AI not being useful for real-world tasks is obsolete.”

Don’t miss out on the biggest change (and joy) in software since the Internet.

The AI Vampire

This was an unusually hard post to write, because it flies in the face of everything else going on.

@grumpygamer not even Microsoft use CoPilot. Claude Code is what you need; every day it brings little moments of joy. Half price for three months with links like this https://claude.ai/alex

Talk with Claude, an AI assistant from Anthropic

@BenHouston3D it was down for me today and the status page link took me to x.com 🤮 where there was a link in the bio to the actual status page 🤷‍♂️
John Battelle's Search Blog Claude Says Non to Ads

Yesterday I wrote a short post on the impact that advertising would have on generative AI, a topic I’ve been thinking and writing about for the past three years. Seems the folks at Anthropic …
