@obsolete29 Thanks! I do think focused interest groups that are populated like Fosstodon probably will be maintained. In the early days, I ran an instance for a podcast. About 15 members.

@lminiero Isn't there is an effect if you view the local server only, and isn't there some interplay between who other folow? I believe there is, but it's been years since I learned the main details

I have a good number of friends from the early days of Twitter. I've tried to cull the rest of my feed to reasonable people and I've used the mute function to advantage, too.
My motto, if you can't converse civilly, move on. It's that simple.

Now that I was forced to create a 4-digit code on my old iPod that lives in a drawer, I have to enterit every night before I can listen to music or podcasts. Forcing this and 2FA have had a cooling down effect on my apreciation of Apple. This i-and the request to confirm a 6 digit code on my Mini, showing the code and the place to enter the code on the SAME DEVICE? Seriously? What possible good can this serve? Unless my right hand doesn't know what my left is doing? </rant>
