Shadow pc appears to have made some change that if you are on low bandwidth, the audio no longer stutters but reduces in quality. For phone usage this is actually a much cooler system, let’s see when it gets changed there. Currently it is only for the desktop app it appears.
@Tamasg Yeah it quite shows. For me though to be honest, it has been mostly this way since gpt4o came out. I discovered a platformm called poe in 2023 which lets me use all kinds of different ai models with only one subscription so I regularly compared GPT to for example Claude or Gemini for my usecases and gpt4o just made a lot of things annoying. You couldn’t ask it about anything fact related anymore as it was more keen on agreeing to you then on providing helpful output, it constantly refused things that could be harmful if you thought around 10 edges and so on. And now OpenAI managed to make the mainstream mad at them with that stupid US military deal. Yesterday my chat GPT plus finally ended and I am happy. It will not be missed.
@sparksexist then this actually lived shorter then the real ptp1, as this was actually discontinued only in 2021 and can, apparently, still be repaired till 2027. The lineo pocket was discontinued in 2022 with the note that no portable device will follow it.
Anyone still remember when I asked about the fathe of plextalk here? I did some digging and found out that in fact the only thing that still exists is *one* single device in the Japanese market. And this is not even a pocket device, the whole pocket lineup is gone. It#s a stationary device, and the future of this device is currently unclear as well. That is actually a pretty steep fall from once calling themselves the world leader in daisy players, while the focus of the main brand seams to have shifted to other products. Funfact, I used Claude to translate the Japanese pages for me as Google Translate gave horrible results, and at the end of it’s last message it said „What makes the whole thing even more bitter: they weren't just a device manufacturer, but deeply embedded in the infrastructure — with authoring software (PRS Pro, Producer), the entire Sapie ecosystem in Japan, and partnerships with libraries for the blind worldwide. And now it's all shrinking down to a single stationary device for the Japanese market, while the parent company would rather build factory robots.“ That… Is pretty damn accurate if you ask me.

Did I break something or did Spotify badly screw up the search feature when it comes to accessibility? Only a few days ago it was still normal, when I was searching something it showed me the top results heading, then tracks, albums, artists etc. Now everything is stuffed into one giant, at least under macOS barely navigatable table.
Any one knows where plextalk went? Went onto the website and see it is basically blanked with only some contact info to a third party left. Really liked mine back in the day.

1. ich bevorzuge Fast SM, wurde bereits verlinkt. Es gibt auch tweesecake, as scheint aber nichtmehr wirklich aktiv gepflegt zu werden.
2. Das kommt drauf an. Libra office writer (Textverarbeitung) ist für einfache Bearbeitung ziemlich ok zu verwenden, und auch calk (Tabellen Kalkulation) ist gut zu verwenden. Allerdings hat der writer manchmal Probleme mit screenreader Funktionen, kann ich bei nachfrage genauer erklären.
3. am besten thunderbird. Die mail client situation auf windows hat sich aber generell in den letzten jahren leider sehr verschlechtert.
@garo Yeah, really getting on my nerves sometimes. It kinda seams like anti ai is the trendy thing to be now. Now careful I am not referring to every anti ai person here. But I have med so many people that scream about ai being the shittiest thing in the world, then I throw a few tom Perpsts or other comedy that came from ai at them and they suddenly find it hilarious, and then start bawling about „yes I find ai the shittiest thing in the world but that is an exception, oh that as well, and that other thing as well, everything I like is an exception but ai is still the shittiest thing in the world“. Everyone just please get a grip, pro ai and anti ai.
@technocounselor the question is, now what about ms edge doesn’t feel weird/inapropriate/etc? Only the fact that win11 is ignoring the default browser settings in some places and always defaults to edge is so weird. I repeat my point from last week, microsoft is a serious insult for software these days, so a program is microsoft translates to a program is bad.
