So the tire shop I've been using exclusively for more than 20 years has decided they no longer want my business. Because the owner got into a verbal disagreement with my (30 year old) son last year.

Worse he jerked me around for more than a month before he told me this.

le sigh

@thurrott I'm very interested but I'm not paying $60 for a game I already paid (IIRC) $100 for (Game + Shivering Isles)

I'll probably pick it up when the price drops into the $30 range.

Super annoying when (idiot) web site designers (in this case the CA DMV) do stupid thing like blocking pasting into fields like bank account or routing numbers (for ACH payments).

Forcing people to type these numbers offers no security benefit at all & only increases the chance of making an error.

@thurrott Perplexity is by far the "AI" I use the most but TBH this would make me want to switch to something else. It's very rare that pre-loaded bloatware is something I actually want.

@thurrott Sundar better make a bigger bribe^H^H^H^H^Hcontribution to Trump if he wants this to go away.

MUCH bigger.

This morning I was on my morning commute, driving the flow of traffic doing 45 in a 40.

Woman behind me pulled onto the center median (not allowed obviously) and drove 55+ to pass me.

The more police refuse to enforce traffic laws (occasionally running speed traps strictly for revenue generation doesn't count) the more common this kind of dangerous driving will become.

@Aminorjourney I started playing just a few months ago but I stopped playing pretty quickly,.

For me it was a combination of how the turn based/dice roll system is implemented, which IMO almost entirely eliminates the impact of skill and strategy. Add to that that I was playing on my Steam Deck and it was WAY too hard to see small elements (like text) on the screen even if wearing reading glasses.

I'll probably start again but on a proper gaming setup with a decent sized monitor,

One of the hallmarks of good satire is if the story is somewhat believable.

Sadly this handily passes muster.

Over the previous two nights I spent probably >4 hours on the phone with Apple support to fix what should have been a simple issue (downloading a free app from the Mac App Store.

I'm virtually certain there is a bug in the underlying code and will only effect the very few people who use a Mac but have never used an iPhone or iPad.

@bmathess

@leo My Bee arrived yesterday, too bad they don't have a referral program or you'd be raking in the cash RN cause I know I'm not the only one.

On a related note: "Robert informs an employee that due to a lack for work and business he must unfortunately terminate their position..." which is a bit stale but sadly accurate.
