whenever it comes to identities you dont understand and you want to understand, its bad to come out of the gate with "this thing doesnt make any sense to me, how can you POSSIBLY be a he/him lesbian, he/him are MALE pronouns." because youre making it clear to whoever youre speaking to that youre coming not from a place of wanting to learn but instead from a place of reactionary confusion.

kill the part of your brain that gets defensive or frustrated when you learn about things that you find hard to understand

You know all those misleading ads for mobile games? Someone actually made a game using the mechanics in the ads, and it's apparently relatively cool

Someone Made The Mobile Game From Those Fake Ads

One app developer came up with the perfect solution to false and misleading ads for mobile games: actually develop the game from the ads.

Maybe I don't have good sources, but I'm definitely not getting what went on last night in #Minneapolis. Somebody shot somebody else and there's been one death and a few injuries. Police intervened on the scene, but it seemed till few days ago they were not operative (refusing to 'work', dismantled, reformed?). They are not communicating the identity of people involved. There must be videos, the area was crowded. Where are they? What are police hiding? Are they afraid of riots and, in that case, why? What's going on in their headquarter right now?

All Things Linguistic

hauntedbygnomes: emorawrites: tell-the-stars-hello: manyblinkinglights: raginrayguns: cptsdcarlosdevil: I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again but it is absolutely an example of civilizational inadequacy that only deaf people know ASL “oh we shouldn’t teach children this language, it will only come in handy if they [checks notes] ever have to talk in a situation where it’s noisy or they need to be quiet” My mom learned it because she figured she’ll go deaf when she gets old My family went holiday SCUBA diving once, and a couple of Deaf guys were in the group. I was really little and I spent most of the briefing overcome with the realization that while the rest of us were going to have regulators in our mouths and be underwater fairly soon, they were going to be able to do all the same stuff and keep talking. The only reason some form of sign language is not a standard skill is ableism, as far as I can tell. For anyone interested in learning, Bill Vicars has full lessons of ASL on youtube that were used in my college level classes.  https://www.youtube.com/user/billvicars and here’s the link to the website he puts in his videos: https://www.lifeprint.com/ For BSL, I’ve been (far too) slowly working through the british-sign intro course, which isn’t free but is currently pay-what-you-can.
