I’m all caught up on my research (for now), and I’ve finished writing an article on the Black Governor tradition for a scholarly publication (more on that later), so now it’s time to turn my messy first draft into a very different and much more readable second draft.

I’m a #publiclibrary director with a background in #museums and #historicalsocieties. I’m currently #writing a book about four interconnected and influential Black families from Connecticut, spanning from the 1750s to the 1890s.

When I was a little kid in the 1970s, we lived in Los Angeles. I was sick all the time from the smog. This is so much like it. 😞
Well. There it is. The final word count on the first draft of my book. 163,231 words, 612 pages. It's messy and chaotic and way too long and it took me 18 months to write it, but the first draft is DONE!!!!
Now I just have to follow up on some research, turn the draft into something readable, and figure out how to get it published. Here's hoping that doesn't take another 18 months. ;)
The best part of Christmas is when I finally finish making all the food and can sit back and relax.

Couldn't make bail. Would spend 2 years on Riker's island awaiting a trial.
-only for the charges to be dropped. Many were appalled, they set it up for him to go to community college. That's where I met him once- my electronics club. Made an LED Christmas tree-he seemed... so so so sad.
He took his own life later that year.
Anyways. Uh, Sam Bankman-Fried to be released on $250 million bail. #cw
