Die erste Reise eines Zeppelins mit Passagieren an Bord erfolgte am 1. Juli 1908. Von Friedrichshafen aus flog das Luftschiff über Schaffhausen, Luzern, Zürich und Lindau zurück an den Ausgangsort. Die 384 Kilometer Weg, die es dabei zurücklegte, waren ebenfalls ein Rekord. Überall verfolgten Menschen den Flug begeistert, wie hier auf dem Foto aus Zürich.

How does climate art work?
Barbara Preisig (art historian, Zurich University of the Arts) and Kris Decker (science researcher, University of Lucerne) will give an insight into their joint research on climate art and the strategies of committed and activist artists.
This Monday from 19.30 at Geroldstrasse 35 (right next to Zurich Hardbrücke station).
Am 14. Juni 1891 ereignete sich die bis dato grösste Eisenbahnkatastrophe der Schweiz. Ein Zug der Jura-Simplon-Bahn überquerte von Basel kommend die Birs in Münchenstein, als die Brücke unter dem Gewicht zusammenbrach. 73 Menschen starben, 171 erlitten Verletzungen. In der Folge wurden die ersten Baunormen in der Schweiz geschaffen.
