ACTION ALERT: When Trump Tried to Freeze Federal Funds, WaPo Saw Not Illegality But ‘Determination’

When Trump usurped Congress's power of the purse, the Beltway paper declared this "highlights" the administration's "determination."

a great thing about hanging out in real life is how good vibes diffuse a situation that would explode online, like yesterday I introduced my cardiologist friend to my naturopath friend and he said "ah, a witch doctor" and she said "awesome, a drug dealer" and then we all laughed and ate pizza
About time that the internet started seeing corporate ownership as damage and routing around it.

Stop worshipping billionaires.

Elon Musk threw away tens of billions of dollars to buy Twitter, and has spent the last year running it into the ground.

When billionaires take control of our most vital platforms for communication, it’s not a win for free speech.

It’s a win for oligarchy.

I suspect all the dark humor about the loss of the Titan and all aboard simply underscores that most people on Mastodon think billionaires are okay — deep down.
It has been brought to my attention that I prophesied the Titanic rich ding dong sub last year
This reflects my feelings.
“Titan and Adriana are two vessels recently lost at sea, four days and 4,000 miles apart. The five men who lost their lives on the Titan have been getting wall-to-wall coverage in the media worldwide. Meanwhile, the estimated 700 who died when the Adriana sank off the coast of Greece, mostly women and children, have been essentially forgotten.”

A Titanic Disparity in How the World Responds to Maritime Disasters

By Amy Goodman & Denis Moynihan All travelers, whether migrants or millionaires, deserve rescue. The global response to the Titan’s disappearance should be the model for how we respond to migrant vessels in distress.

@rbreich im convinced the last piece of the puzzle, is getting middle management, to accept they are working class. The strivers and the team leads chasing 150k think they are on the up and up. But they remain workers, exploited by capital.

If the past few years have taught us anything, it's that:

1) Poverty is a policy choice.
2) Workers keep America going, not billionaires.
3) Corporate profits don't trickle down.
4) Health care is a human right.

The time to act on these issues is now.
