(Possibly a nooby question.) I was watching Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, as always I instinctively went to the brightness button on my keyboard, but it was already on maximum. Why tf to they often make TV shows so damn dark nowadays?? D: Is there please some sort of program or app for Linux to make it the video a bit more brighter? I’m not exactly a tech savvy person, so I won’t be able to do anything overly elaborate.

“Devil Eyes was the code name for a secret psychological warfare program in 2005–2006 by the United States Central Intelligence Agency. The program allegedly aimed to develop an action figure of Osama bin Laden and distribute it in South Asia, especially Afghanistan and Pakistan, as part of an effort to influence public opinion.[1][2] The CIA worked in conjunction with toymaker Donald Levine, a former Hasbro executive who has been credited as the “father” of G.I. More than 40,000 words were written on the article’s talk page (a page for editors to discuss changes to the article) before a consensus was reached to capitalize the “I”. (…) During the dispute, cartoonist Randall Munroe wrote and drew a January 30, 2013, xkcd comic strip both honoring and making fun of the edit war, depicting an editor who resolved the edit war by rewriting the title as “*StAr TrEk InTo DaRkNeSs*”.

yeah, you’re right :v i was just thinking about how i’d filter spam right after i posted this

how could i do this QR code thing you suggested first? i’m lost ;-; i’m mostly a tech noob compared to most fediverse-type folks (though i’m trying to learn)

as for weather protecting, that’s a good point. i guess i didn’t think this through bc where i live it is mostly warm all the time (it rarely rains, except for specific seasons). maybe i should just place the books in places with roofs or types of weather protection
