I am nerd or geek, depending on your perspective. I do IT things, I do WordPress things, I do accessibility things. But on social media, I do snark things.
@arqeria You would guess that, but you would be wrong. Trial and error is what it comes down to. Pick defaults that look reasonable and see where they get you. The first year or two was tweeking those defaults, but honestly I haven't really touched them since.
@arqeria Proton didn't exist when I set up my email 18 years ago. And really, I mean, I'm hosting my own website and a couple sites for friends anyway, so email's not much of a stretch from that.
@arqeria Because ISP provided email is hot garbage, and Gmail is free because you are the product.
So this account will be moving just as soon as the fediverse decides to let me. Nothing against this instance at all, but - in the same way as I host my own email - I've decided to host my own instance. It may or may not continue to be just me on said instance.
@Bruce_Toews It's more of a fact than an opinion, I think. I mean pick any Pierre speech in the HoC since he was elected CPC leader and he's blaming Trudeau. And I mean, I don't like the guy either. But don't tell me why I shouldn't vote for Trudeau. I'm already not doing that. Tell me why I should vote for you. "I'm not Trudeau" is... well... not that.
@Bruce_Toews Perhaps it would be beneficial if that Conservative leader wasn't, as usual, blaming Justin Trudeau. I mean yes, okay, so Trudeau bad. Cool. Now what would you do in his place? Because if it's gonna basically be the same thing but without the hair, then also Pierre bad.

@simon Supposedly Westjet's doing some flights into victoria starting this summer, so depending where you're going you may not even need to do that.
