People that run blogs -- How do you promote your posts?

It seems like the only thing the internet hates more than advertising is good-faith self promotion.

It does look like self promoting still works if your content is worth reading, but I've been banned from a few Reddit communities and it's not clear to me the appropriate way to market a personal, micro-blog -- Did capitalism just ruin this nice little part of the internet already?

@forteller Way too much HDR....
@smicur @immersfer
1. Check out Hugo -- really nice and easy system
2. I think blogs will make a comeback with the surge of AI content that has happened and is still happening and a general lack of trust in our institutions growing. The biggest challenge I think will be discovery. My personal blog doesn't spend money on ads and doesn't have investors to fund my adsense spends - Still, I think we will organically solve this problem
3. Bring back blog-rings? :P

@stoicmike @immersfer > Everything online is ephemeral, no matter how you slice it...

This could be said for anything -- Think of how few books we have from the Library of Alexandria. People have written since the Sumerians, but most of our knowledge of ancient civilization is pieced together with archaeology.

Think of how great a gift to humanity those books are and then realize all this content is even MORE valuable since it's not only royal decrees.

I never even figured out wwhat to do with Twitter and Mastodon seems even harder. What do?
