@asutherland Everything you say is perfectly reasonable, and I have every sympathy for the moderators, but I’m not going to second-guess myself every time I post, so I’m going to stop.

I understand that this server has a specific topic; I joined precisely because I think poems with metrical rules are generative art, in analogy with algorithmic painting, etc.

@jared It’s disappointing, but I still think admins deciding what goes on their own server is a long way from the Postal Service burning Joyce. Although I’m not really sure how to find a new server. I’ve posted poems here that probably run afoul of mastodon.social’s policies, for instance.

My account was just limited for posting a sexually explicit sonnet from 1526 (with a content warning).

I'm not sure if it's worth the effort to find a new server; if anyone has suggestions please let me know.

@ivory Your judgment hasn’t let me down so far. I guess I was mostly surprised at the apparent shift in reception from the Mastodon announcement to now. Maybe the Ivory user base has a selection effect, since former Tweetbot users are more used to Twitter.
@twilliability Sometimes those strange names have an obscure connection to the product and I can’t tell whether it’s a coincidence.
@ivory I’m not sure I wouldn’t make the same decision, but wasn’t “quality of life” a problem on Twitter? The UX for publicly shitting on random people for clout was hassle-free.
