@prolezone boosting this because I feel like there’s a conversation to be had about delineating between abuse and bad behavior. Casting every negative social interaction as abuse is a surefire way to completely fuck up a community and turn it toxic. So this isn’t necessarily just about Darnielle

@Pixley also, people come up to him at signings and talk about their abuse to him, lean on him emotionally, all kindsa stuff. he's also a survivor of abuse. like he's not acting like this in a vacuum. it's definitely some weirdo shit but painting him as a predator for it is not great

@Pixley as far as i can tell, no. which makes the updates to it where the author is like "we need to shame him until he doesn't have this power he needs to be stopped" extremely concerning to me.
