Processing Community Survey 2025

Hello Processing Community 👋 The Processing Foundation is running this survey to better understand the community’s needs, how Processing is used, what features are most important, and what challenges users encounter. Most people finish in 10-15 minutes. Almost all questions are optional and some pages will be skipped based on your answers, so don't let the progress bar scare you 👻 Every response has a real impact. Processing is developed by a very small team and a dedicated contributor community. Survey feedback is a crucial part of how we decide where to focus our limited resources. Even if you use Processing only once in a while or stepped away from it, your perspective matters to us! We will share the anonymized survey results with the community as both a raw dataset and a blog post with graphs and commentary. The Processing Community Survey 2025 is live! (Yes, we know it's 2026 but there were delays 😅)

If you use Processing in any way, we’d love your input. It helps us understand what works and what needs attention.

LGM 2025 - The State of Processing: How We’re Bringing a Creative Coding Icon Back to Life

YouTube

@hmmn Ah, looks like your browser's doing some rogue dark mode magic. We don’t have one built in yet, so the text gets a bit stealthy. 🥷

Processing is a tool and language for learning code through visuals, and a kind of sketchbook for creative coding.

The upcoming 4.4.5 release of Processing includes as many new contributors as all the releases since 4.3.1 combined 🥳

Welcome to everyone who made their first PR, we’re so glad you’re here!

We’ve been working hard to lower the barrier to entry, so seeing this many new folks jump in is really encouraging and honestly makes us a bit emotional. Thank you 💙
