What seems evident.. is that if the Midwest (excluding Chicago) changed course right now, today, to correct city layouts and improve density, they would still be 30 years behind any east-coast city. At the current pace, it seems that midwestern cities are largely doomed.

@carnage4life Yeah this seems to be the new way. Being surgical about layoffs takes too much time and brain power, so they cut everything and then back track when the hot-spots show up. It's pretty irresponsible and it sucks, but share holders don't care and corporations have all of the leverage.

The wildest thing about the recent Tumblr change isn’t the change itself, it’s the fact that they made the change at all. It took man hours and time to do this. I assume it wasn’t trivial. So what exactly was the actual end goal? Certainly not to make money. Are they just fucking around?
