Big new pretalx version: v2026.1.0 is out!

Even though it has only been a few months, this includes a whole bunch of cool new features, including a much-improved CfP editor, better schedule filters, custom per-event fonts, and much better multi-event handling for speakers, allowing for different names and profile pictures for different events.

Context I observed suboptimal and unsustainable patterns in several groups that I organize events with. For example Berlin Hack\&Tell started out with meetup.com/berlin-hack-and-tell. In the beginning this worked well and helped bootstrapping the community. But capitalism and the process of enshit...

Long-awaited, much requested: Turn off speaker’s ability to edit information after their proposal was accepted.
If you're organising an event with an open call, I can't recommend @pretalx enough for managing the process. Free/open source and so much easier than 'easychair' and anything else I've had to use.
Super impressed with the peer review management process, and scheduling was a dream as well!
