Here I am at my second BlueTeamCon, and I gotta say I couldn't be happier. I've found my people and this space is so much fun, and still entertaining! Thanks @alyssam_infosec for making sure I knew to come, and to everyone else who has made this place so welcoming.

Friends, I did it. I have a new job.

I didn't make the jump to infosec but I am an IT Manager in two weeks and I'll be leading an agency dedicated to some very important causes and guiding their technical evolution.

I'm over the moon.

With this, it's important that I take the time to acknowledge so many of you, especially my old infosec T****r crew, as well as a number of my past managers and leaders who helped me see the value in myself and my experience and keep pushing forward. I literally wouldn't have done this without you.

DEF CON was canceled.

After a great 25 year relationship Caesars abruptly terminated their contract with #DEFCON, leaving us with no venue for DC 32, and just about seven months to Con!

We don’t know why Caesars canceled us, they won’t say beyond it being a strategy change unrelated to anything that DEF CON or our community has done. The parting is confusing, but amicable.

We immediately scrambled a venue strike team to Las Vegas. Floors were walked. Meetings were held. Hands were shook and options weighed. When the smoke cleared, the field narrowed to one obvious choice.

W00T! DEF CON Is UN-CANCELED!

DEF CON 32 will still be August 8-11 2024, but now held at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) with workshops and training at the Sahara.

I've been rather inactive here as I'm not as drawn in as I was on Twitter back before the dark times. Before the Empire. I'm now off it completely following Herr Strongman von Balding's latest little antisemitic statements.
