If you see this toot (yeah this one right here), can you boost it for me? It will help my new server federate with the wider Mastodon network. 🚀 🙏
So I've been on #Mastodon for four days now, and I'm starting to get a sense of some of the subtleties of the platform. Starting to see why being on a smaller instance might be preferable - although I've met and followed a LOT of great people on masthead.social. Larger, open instances have more spam accounts (especially with #Twexit) and the Local Timeline is more cluttered. It's a learning process, but I like learning.
A Mastodon Resource list from ResearchBuzz. thanks! https://researchbuzz.me/2022/11/05/a-big-list-of-mastodon-resources/
A Big List of Mastodon Resources

I took a pop at Mastodon several years ago, but it didn’t work. I couldn’t figure out how to make it social, and I didn’t have a good grasp of how the “federated” part…

Absolutely delighted to see @hoserama99 on this platform. We went to high school together. If you're into #gaming #development and enjoy a quick wit and keen mind, definitely do give him a follow.
There is INDEED a way to port over your follows. On your old profile, go to Edit Profile, then Account Settings, then Import/ Export (left side menu). Click on CVS next to Follows. It'll download a file. Go to Import/ Export on the new profile, go to Import and upload the file. Hope that helps anyone also moving.

Do you think that so many politicians are against mail-in and early voting because voters have more time to research and vote intelligently when there isn't test anxiety and completion pressure?

As always, my experience isn't general, but I do know people who vote in person who are much more likely to vote straight ticket because they want to get in and out of the voting booth quickly.

@hoserama99 Glad to see you're over here on #Mastodon! I just made the switch last week.
You think Kari Lake will show up at the Powerball offices to demand her money after her ticket doesn't win?

One thing I've liked so far about #Mastodon, especially on this instance, is that I've found a bunch of smart people who want to exchange ideas, instead of doing the old Bird App thing of trying to prove they're the smartest in the room.

Presenting a beautiful, thoughtful, provoking idea is way more enticing than a dunk.

I can't believe I have to say this, but I hope everyone is safe when they vote tomorrow, particularly in Arizona.
