For me the main differentiator would be the language. That is always a bit clumsy on twitter. Now we can tweet about the best oliebollen with our mastadon.nl account and about non-NL related stuff on an international instance.

@Euphoria in some environments where markdown is supported `backtics` can be used to emphasise something. This is mainly used for code or command line statements.
The backtic can be found left from the z key :)
