@flp Thank you for listening to the suggestion and implementing it so quickly. I hope other followers of @bigcases find it as useful as I do for managing their timelines and keeping up with the cases that are most interesting to them.

@flp A tag with all numbers doesn’t seem to work for me in the mastadon app or the client I use, Ivory. Adding a letter anywhere in the string makes it into a valid tag. Maybe putting the state abbreviation at the start, or US if it’s a federal case, could solve that. #3238434 vs #NY3238434 for example. The first one is just a number, the second is a valid hashtag. Aside from that issue, an automated, unique tag for each case sounds perfect to me. Thanks for considering the suggestion.
