@flp I wanted to make a quick suggestion for big cases bot. Is it possible to give each case a hashtag that is included whenever the bot posts an update? That would let people follow the cases they are especially interested in and mute the ones they aren’t. Sorry if this is already being done and I’ve just missed it somehow.
@plotthounds This is a good idea for Mastodon. Would it be good enough if they were automated, but inscrutable? E.g., if for case number 3238434, the hash would be #3238434?
@flp A tag with all numbers doesn’t seem to work for me in the mastadon app or the client I use, Ivory. Adding a letter anywhere in the string makes it into a valid tag. Maybe putting the state abbreviation at the start, or US if it’s a federal case, could solve that. #3238434 vs #NY3238434 for example. The first one is just a number, the second is a valid hashtag. Aside from that issue, an automated, unique tag for each case sounds perfect to me. Thanks for considering the suggestion.
@plotthounds sounds great. Space is a premium, but we'll get it on the backlog.

See conversation here: https://law.builders/@[email protected]/110191763164020529 We can probably just do a hashtag like: f"#CL{ CL_CASE_ID }" unless, somebody else can think of something bet...

@plotthounds This is rolling out now. Look for hashtags in all future toots!
@flp Thank you for listening to the suggestion and implementing it so quickly. I hope other followers of @bigcases find it as useful as I do for managing their timelines and keeping up with the cases that are most interesting to them.
@plotthounds We noticed it's not on the "I'm now following..." posts, but we'll get that done too, soon.
