in black and white
#photography, it’s all about contrast. we only have blacks, whites, and greys. and in modern cities, we have a high density of people. and they are all different. but they have managed to live together, in some way.
#berlin especially did not care who you are, where you come from, or how you live.
mostly that’s fantastic, but we still face these people we normally overlook: the homeless, the addicts, the poor, you name it. we see them, but we don’t care. in contrast to the us of a, we have some kind of social safety net, but there are people who don’t use it because they don’t know, they don’t care, or they can’t.
however, for me it’s a difficult situation. i want to show what’s going on these days, but i don’t want to blame or expose people, especially on the internet. please let’s remind ourselves of those who are vulnerable and focus on helping. and please let me know if you feel offended or have bad feelings about this.
