@pvonhellermannn All of this is true, but the connection to climate feels artificial and I think is also not completely honest.
If Gaza were free, the gas field off its coast would provide a massive economic boon for the State of Palestine and they'd almost certainty want to exploit it. Would we still be making the same arguments then?
(Same goes for Israel if they destroyed and settled Gaza completely. I'm sure this topic will come up sooner or later...)
Die OFFIZIELLE POLITIK Israels ist jetzt ERKLÄRTERMASSEN ethnische Säuberung. Jede "plausible deniability" ist vorbei. Was hat die @Bundesregierung dazu zu sagen?
The most "promising" tech in that regard is everything that requires huge amounts of computation - because both the required hardware and power are expensive. GPUs are then simply the kind of hardware that is most efficient in those compute-heavy tasks.

@mindpersephone @neil This makes too much sense...
Alternative theory though:
Tech bros only deem research directions worthy that maintain a "moat" - i.e. where success in operating the technology is directly proportional to available capital. (Or put more bluntly: The new tech should be easy to deploy for rich and hard to deploy for poor people)
