The 3DFX Voodoo Lives Again In An FPGA
The 3DFX Voodoo was not the first dedicated 3D graphics chipset by any means, but it became the favourite for gamers among the early mass-market GPUs. It would be found on a 3D-processing-only PCI …
Hackadaythe very fun thing about SCSI is that there is at least three connectors I can end up with when looking for SCSI hard drives
the oldest computer in my collection (a ~1996 PowerTower 180e) now officially boots
still need to find a hard drive for it, but it boots
ordered a replacement USB module and two loudspeakers
should arrive by April
front panel assembly arrived, attempted to transfer the internals
thinking that the LCD connector is a ZIF flip-up connector, I tried to pry it up
now the LCD is ruined and I need to order a new USB daughterboard
fun!
it's fixed
haven't glued in the battery yet, waiting for the front panel assembly that will actually come tomorrow
and I was right!
the tablet is in a weird bootloop now, but I decided to wipe cache and see if that fixes it
front panel assembly should arrive on Friday if nothing goes wrong
my current conclusion is that the battery is completely dead, had this happen to a Samsung Xcover 3 I had that had a dead battery, it refused to boot at all
still need to find a multimeter to confirm my line of thought, but it's the most plausible scenario
ordered a replacement battery that's hopefully good and a replacement front panel assembly that hopefully doesn't have bubbles
we'll see how it goes
