I've been working officially as a DevAdvocate for a year now.
One thing I've learned is to sniff which events are run by community members, which by marketing people.
I have tons of respect for great marketing professionals, it seems I'm a community guy. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hints for all event organisers:
a) don't process images with speakers' faces
b) also don't post-process their submission/content/anything.
Ask for consent. Even if you think it's funny.
Or shall I say: especially if you think it's funny.

I'm simply shocked how many organisers think it's okay to grab someone's face and paste it in random places without even asking. Even using pics from other events, which weren't shared with them.

When choosing dependencies, we should choose them to satisfy the users' needs, not our CV or ego.

For the same reason, when writing tests, we should proritise the confidence they give and their maintainability, not their execution speed.
