it was likely https://github.com/gokrazy/kernel.rpi/pull/13 because updating the wifi package fixed the issue... besides making me realise that I haven't upgraded the wifi package in years
latest kernel+userland of gokrazy fails to boot on my rpi zero 2 W and I just discovered that I'm absolutely not ready to troubleshoot boot issue because I never installed the pin headers on the pi, so no serial
at least I managed to rollback the upgrade
